ABOUT US
We are Code-it Hacks! Toronto's only "play-based" STEM institute for kids ages 4 - 18. Code-it Hacks brings creative, innovative and fun Coding and Robotics programs and camp experiences to kids across GTA in the STEM field.
We are seeking enthusiastic and passionate team of individuals who love working with a variety of different technologies, has patience to work with kids and has excellent project and people management skills.
Our campers learn the STEM skills and get the opportunity to visit local tech companies to present their projects. As part of our camp team, all camp staff will have the opportunity to connect and network with our industry partners via expo days and company field trips.

Artificial Intelligence Researcher and Educator
Are you an Artificial Intelligence enthusiast? Are you invested in artificial intelligence (AI) growth, research, and development? Then look no further. Code-it Hacks is seeking a curious and talented Graduate or Doctorate student to help us research and develop an AI curriculum for Youth and Teens. The role also entails teaching opportunities. Code-it Hacks Kids was launched in 2017 to demystify emerging technology for young kids and better prepare them for the digitized 21st century. At Code-it Hacks, we use play-based methodologies to introduce coding concepts to children as young as 4. We want every child to internalize and adopt the ever-changing landscape of technology as second nature. We are expanding our emerging technology program for middle and high school students in Artificial Intelligence. We seek curious and eager students who want to join our team to help us grow and develop in this area. Job Description: - Research and develop curriculum for middle and high school students in the areas of: - Artificial Intelligence Gaming - Artificial Intelligence - Application development - AGI trends and growth - Prepare progressive courses and lesson plans for middle and high school - Establish relationships with upcoming tech companies that specialize in AI in various industries - Deliver camps specializing in teaching students Machine learning concepts - Teach fundamentals of coding - Teach game and application development using Unity, A-Frame, Python, etc. Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Masters or PhD in the field of Computer Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence or a related area - Experience with coding - Experience or exposure to Game and application development - Experience and proficiency using project, research or work experience in Machine learning - Must be familiar with and exposed to research in AGI - Research experience - Works independently - Strong interpersonal skills as well as a solid team spirit and a positive mentality - Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment, adapt, manage tasks efficiently, and be attentive to deadlines - Must be confident and energetic in teaching students the course material using our play-based methods - Must have the desire to adopt and learn new technologies - Must be able to write course lesson plans (instructions and the code) with step-by-step instruction
Summer Camp - STEM Director
Code-it Hacks seeks a Summer Camp Director to supervise and lead campers and staff. Job Duties - Ensuring the smooth operation of all camps. You will overlook all day to day operations of the camp - Mentor and guide camp leaders and coaches in ensuring they get the support to be successful in their daily camp duties - Maintain and ensure all camp health and safety measures and manuals are in place - Coordinate and execute fire drill at the beginning of each camp week - Prepare Checklists for camp setup and breakdown - Prepare and communicate staff schedules, camp rosters, and parent communications - Audit and verify camp supply inventory reports from the camp supervisors - Monitor staff performance and provide end-of-summer performance evaluation reports to all staff - Conduct camp day-start round-up and day-end debrief sessions with all the camp staff - Send out weekly task lists to all staff - Coordinate and ensure smooth operation of all camp field trips and excursions and expo day - Ensure all camps are running per the curriculum and camp manuals - Provide professional, courteous and prompt customer service to all in-person and online parent enquiries - Stay proactive and resolve any conflicts about staff, camp and administrative issues Camp Director Qualification: - Post-secondary education (or currently enrolled) preferred - Minimum 2 years experience in a child-oriented programs - Prior camp leadership experience an asset - Current Standard First Aid and CPR “C” for the duration of the contract - Must be able to provide a Vulnerable Sector check before the start of the camp season - Must have excellent communication, time-management and leadership skills - Must be able to provide references Work Perks and Training - All hired candidates will be given a one-day HIGH-FIVE training - Candidates will be given five-day Technical training (to be conducted in June on Weekends) - Most Camps will visit Technology companies. Summer Camp STEM Lead Instructor
Reporting to the Camp Director, Instructors are responsible for planning, organizing and implementing a high quality technology program that is stimulating and fun for all participants. Job Duties - Plan, organize and deliver technology lessons to all levels of participants - Follow the lesson plan but have the ability to improvise and add fun element to the program - Maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situation - Work with the camp coaches to have all projects completed for the expo and tech company visit - Provide excellent customer service including greeting and engaging participants, greeting parents and answering any question that they may have - Complete administrative duties in a timely manner - Complete camper evaluation report cards by second last day of each camp week Required Skills: - The incumbent must be a graduate or under graduate student currently pursuing degrees in computer Science, Information management, Engineering or similar discipline - Must have experience with coding and working with technology. - Must have exposure to all or some the programming languages: C, C++ Python, Machine Learning, Lua scripting, C#(Unity), etc. - Exposure working with circuit boards such as Arduino, Micro:bits etc. - Teaching experience is nice to have - All hired staff must provide Vulnerability sector checks - All hired staff must have current First Aid and CPR training certificate Work Perks and training - All hired candidates will be given a one-day HIGH-FIVE training - Candidates will be given five-day Technical training (to-be conducted in June on Weekends) - Most Camps will visit Technology companies. Summer Camp - STEM Coach
Reporting to the Camp Specialist, Coaches are responsible for assisting and implementing a high-quality technology program that is stimulating and fun for all participants. Job Duties - Set up and breakdown camp per checklist - Prepare daily before-camp and after-camp inventory reports to camp supervisor - Maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency - Work with the camp leaders to have all projects completed for the expo and tech company visit - Complete administrative duties promptly - Responsible for preparing daily incident reports to submit to the camp supervisor - Assist the Camp Leader with the preparation of camper report cards Required Skills - The incumbent must be a high-school student, graduate or undergraduate student currently seeking to or pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Information management, Engineering or a similar discipline - Prior camp counselling experience is a plus - Must have a desire to learn and work with technology - Some experience with coding and other technology is an asset - Some exposure to all or some of the programming languages, C, C++, Python, Machine Learning, C# (Unity), etc., is a plus - Exposure to working with circuit boards such as Arduino, Micro: bits, etc. is a plus - Teaching experience is pleasant to have - All hired staff must provide Vulnerability sector checks Work Perks and Training - All hired candidates will be given a one-day HIGH-FIVE training - Candidates will be given five-day Technical training (to be conducted in June on Weekends) - Most Camps will visit Technology companies.
